Dear family members and friends,
Thank you for your support during this challenging past six months. We have all been through a lot but we are moving forward in the right direction thanks our committed team of heroes!
We want to assure you that we are continuing to take every measure necessary to ensure the safety and well being of our residents and staff and we are following all federal, state and local guidelines as they relate to COVID-19 and infection control.
We are pleased to announce that Bala will resume outdoor visitation effective Wednesday September 16th. All outdoor visits must be scheduled in advance through our social services department and are limited due to space and social distancing requirements.
Please click on the "reopening status" tab to view our plan for reopening. Please keep in mind that this plan is tentative and totally depends on the absence of COVID-19 infection as well as our ability to mitigate risk.
Thank you, and please be safe,
Angela Wells, MSN, RN, NHA

Dear Family Members
As you are aware, a new respiratory disease, Corona virus 2019 (COVID-19) is spreading globally and there have been instances of COVID -19 spread in the United States. There has now been a suspected (not confirmed) case in Philadelphia. We want to reassure you that Bala Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is taking every measure necessary to prevent the spread of disease at our facility. We are following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as our local health department. Unfortunately, this disease can be fatal to our already immunocompromised or frail residents. In light if this we have bumped up our preventative protocols.
The facility is being cleaned/ sanitized frequently throughout the day to decrease lingering germs/ bacteria
Signs have been placed on the door to divert those who are symptomatic.
Staff and residents are being in serviced on infection control and prevention of spread of disease.
Residents are being monitoring for onset of illness.
Staff, family members and visitors who are experiencing respiratory illness/ symptoms are asked to refrain from coming into the facility.
All Staff and visitors have their temperatures taken prior to being permitted on the units.
We also want this use this opportunity to update our contact information for resident representatives. Please call us with any updated contact information that you feel we may not have on file. (Phone numbers, addresses, emails.) Our goal is to keep you imformed.
If you have any questions you may contact us at 215-877-5400 ext. 326 or 312
